UCF Women’s Soccer
Projection Mapping & Motion Design 2026
For this projection mapping project, I created a colorful, energetic motion graphics experience for the UCF Women’s Soccer team. The project consisted of three animations designed to be projected onto a dimensional 3D surface, each representing a different moment of the game-day experience: before, during, and after the game. The animations incorporated soccer-inspired graphics, dynamic movement, and bold compositions to bring the physical surface to life.
Inspired by the vibrant energy of the World Cup, I wanted to create a fun and expressive visual system that captured the excitement of soccer and the movement of the field. Rather than relying solely on UCF’s traditional colors, I explored a more playful and diverse color palette to create a fresh, energetic atmosphere. My goal was to use motion and projection mapping to engage fans and bring the excitement of the sport into a physical space.
The projection mapping surface is a custom-built wooden structure made from multiple layered pieces. Each layer creates different depths, angles, and dimensional elements across the board, giving the projection a physical structure to interact with. This dimensional construction allowed the animations to extend beyond a flat screen, making the projection feel integrated with the physical object rather than simply displayed on top of it.

Corner Pinning
The project started in after effects then I moved to the physical aspect of the project. We set up the projector and tested each animation directly on the physical wooden structure. I used corner pinning to align the compositions with the different layers, angles, and shapes of the board. Through repeated testing and adjustments, I was able to make sure the graphics lined up correctly with the 3D elements of the projection mapping object.
